Corey Worthington’s Mom Charged with Assault; Plus Corey’s New Look

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Either you love him or you hate him, but Melbourne party teen Corey Worthington just doesn’t seem to go away and now even his mother is making headlines:

PARTY pest Corey Worthington’s mother, Joanne Delaney, has been charged with assault and hindering police, Victoria Police confirmed yesterday.

The charges relate to an incident that allegedly occurred at Ms Delaney’s home in Narre Warren South on February 6.

Four police attended the home on March 12, the day of the incident.

In a statement released yesterday, Ms Delaney, 43, denied she hindered or assaulted police and said she would “vigorously” defend the charges.

Ms Delaney is due to appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on July 30.  [Herald-Sun]

While his mom is being brought up on assault charges Corey has been busy changing his look for his guest appearance on the Big Brother program:

The revelation that his mother was facing assault charges came as neighbourhood nuisance Worthington, 17, revealed his “new look” to enter Channel 10’s Big Brother house.

Worthington, who hosted a house party in January that spiralled out of control and ended with youths terrorising Narre Warren residents and pelting police with rocks, will enter the Big Brother house as an intruder.

It was rumoured the one-time apprentice carpenter would earn $20,000 for his appearance on tonight’s episode of the reality show.

I don’t blame Corey for chasing the money because if someone is going to offer him that kind of money to appear on the show he might as well take it.  However, I just hope he has a back up plan with his life once his 15 minutes of fame are up.  If he was smart he would finish up high school and make sure he has enough money saved up to go to college just in case this whole party gig doesn’t work out.

Anyway, so who likes Coreys’ new look?:

With a haircut like that he might as well put the wig back on, but what do I know?

The Biggest Loser Contestants

Last night the winner of my favorite Australian reality TV program, The Biggest Loser announced its winner last night and it was incredible to see how much weight the finalists lost:

The final results were:
The winner of The Biggest Loser 2008, Sam Rouen (NSW), $200,000 prizemoney.
Starting weight: 154.6 (in kg)
Current weight: 82.9
Total Loss: 71.7
Weight loss percentage: 46.38 per cent

In 2nd place was West Australian mother of three, Alison Braun, who took away $25,000.
Starting weight: 121.7
Current weight: 66.6
Total Loss: 55.2
Weight loss percentage: 45.36 per cent

In a very close 3rd place, ex-Australia water polo player, Kirsten Binnie (VIC), won $10,000.
Starting weight: 126.8
Current weight : 71.9
Total Loss: 54.9
Weight loss percentage: 43.30 per cent

The prize for the Biggest Loser of the eliminated contestants goes to single father of 3 kids Sean Holbrook (NSW) who wins $30,000.
Starting weight: 174.6
Current weight : 94.8
Total Loss: 79.8
Weight loss percentage: 45.70 per cent

The total weight of all this year’s participants:
Starting weight: 4051.5
Current weight: 2897.6
Total Loss:1153.9

What I find amazing about this is that they accomplished this weight loss in three months.  It is really amazing watching the show and seeing how regular exercise and good nutrition leads to regular weight loss.  Anyway congratulations to Sam Rouen for winning the overall prize.  The guy is 20 years old and never had a girlfriend due to how obese he was; some how I don’t think that is going to be a problem ever again.

Two Australians Claim to be Daniel Radcliffe’s Dream Girl

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

So which girl is it for Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe?:

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was simply looking for the mystery Aussie girl who once caught his eye, but now he has two woman claiming to be the girl of his dreams - and one bemused boyfriend.

Because while 20-year-old Cassi McKay might have worked her magic on Hollywood’s boy wizard, Sydney electrician Matt Wesley is taking the new development in his stride.

The 23-year-old, who has been dating Sydney insurance worker McKay for almost three years, was aware that she had met Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe at a function last year. [Herald-Sun]

However, Cassi McKay is not the only one claiming to be Radcliffe’s dream girl:

As if a protective boyfriend wasn’t enough, a second local beauty emerged today to claim she was the mystery siren who took his heart.

And guess what? Yes, she has a boyfriend, too.

Melbourne saxophonist Savannah Blount, 23, is the woman pictured on Radcliffe’s other arm during a fleeting backstage embrace at the AFI awards in 2006, according to MX newspaper.

Blount said she was charmed by the teen wizard and was happy to go on a date with him if the chance arose during one of her regular UK tours.

Both are pretty good looking girls.  So who do you think is Radcliffe’s Dream Girl? Vote below:

Corey Worthington to Appear on Big Brother

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

It really was only a matter of time before Corey Worthington would appear on Australia’s version of Big Brother:

TWO of the upcoming Big Brother housemates have been revealed - tearaway teen Corey Worthington and Terri, a 53-year-old grandma who idolises Pauline Hanson.  It is understood producers have stitched up a deal with Worthington’s agent Max Markson to have the suburban bogan raise hell as an intruder, ahead of announcing the inclusion of loudmouth nanna Terri last night.  (…)

In case that’s not enough to prompt a please explain, Worthington is understood to have been instructed to be his "obnoxious self" when he makes an appearance on the show.

Producers are believed to have contacted the sunnies-wearing brat the day after his headline-making party parachuted him into the pop culture stratosphere.

While the plan was meant to be kept secret, spies say Worthington - at 17 too young to be a contestant - will be sent into the house with the directive to ’stir things up a bit’. [The Daily Telegraph]

Talk about unsurprising as well as this probably being his last minute of his 15 minutes of fame.

It looks like Corey Worthington has some competition in the out of control teen party market.

Corey Worthington Nominated for MTV Award

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Just when you thought the Melbourne party teen Corey Worthington’s fifteen minutes of fame was over, MTV had to go and nominate him for an award:

WHAT do pop star Justin Timberlake, former immigration minister Kevin Andrews, and Melbourne party pest Corey Worthington have in common?

They have all been nominated for gongs at the 2008 MTV Australia Awards.

Politicians, pranksters, film stars, trouble-makers, socially conscious organisations and Grammy Award winners are all in the running to take home a gong at the newly revamped awards.

Voting opens today on seven of the 10 award categories ahead of the awards on April 26.

Sneaky Sound System, Silverchair, Delta Goodrem, The Veronicas and Operator Please are all nominated for the Australian artist music award.

Battling it out in the music video of the year category are Fergie, Mika, Delta Goodrem, Foo Fighters and 50 Cent featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

In one of the more unconventional categories, the television moment award, Corey Worthington’s A Current Affair interview will be up against Snoop Dogg’s MTV citizenship campaign, The Chaser’s War On Everything’s APEC stunt, skateboarder Jake Brown’s X-Games 45ft (15 metre) stack and stand, and A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.

Happy to extend his 15 minutes of fame, Corey Worthington said he was pleased to be up against fellow bad boy Snoop Dogg.

“It’s cool to be considered for an MTV award, and to be included in such great company,” he said.  [AAP]

I’m surprised how much Corey Worthington has been able to maintain his noterity after the incident has long been over.  The kid is a total media creation with little talent in my opinion so eventually the media will tire of extracting every last little headline out of this story and hopefully this guy will just go away.

Corey Worthington Copycat Party in Perth

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Another Corey Delaney copycat is trying to make a name for himself in Perth.

Tony Abbott’s Corey Worthington Moment

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

A story making headlines today in Australia is how one of their parliament members Tony Abott had his daughter’s birthday party crashed by a bunch of uninvited guests:

POLICE were twice called to the Sydney Northern Beaches home of former federal health minister Tony Abbott last weekend when throngs of gatecrashers descended on his teenage daughter’s birthday party.

Neighbours of the Abbotts yesterday said the sheer number of teenagers in the street was blocking access.

"They were all over the road. I was trying to drive down the street and I was frightened I would hit one of them," one woman said.

Others woke to find bottles and beer cans strewn across their lawns.

A resident across the road told of how distressed the Abbotts were when they saw at least 50 uninvited teenagers congregating outside their Forestville home.

"The party was well-supervised before the (gatecrashers) turned up," the woman said.

"All the kids had to take off their backpacks and leave them in the garage before they were allowed in to make sure they had no alcohol on them.

"Then, at about 9pm, a huge number of kids turned up and were asking all the neighbours up and down the street, ‘Where is the party?’

"They sort of milled around and then the police turned up and herded them back up the road. The Abbotts were deeply upset about it."

Police sent two separate patrol cars about 9pm and 11.30pm to the usually quiet suburban street to shoo the nuisance teens away. Many hid to escape the police and some reportedly abused the residents when they complained.

Police issued a number of "move on" orders and several teenagers were escorted back to Dee Why police station to wait for their parents. No arrests were made.

At least two other parties were being held in nearby streets and it is understood the rogue guests wandered down under the misguided belief that Mr Abbott was holding an open house.

Mr Abbott confirmed "there were a few kids in the street who tried to gain admission to our daughter’s party, but we didn’t let them in".

"After a while the police suggested they move on and I must say the police did a terrific job," he said. [The Daily Telegraph]

The party crashing is being compared in the media to the infamous Corey Worthington (Delaney) party that made headlines last month here in Australia.  Is it just me or is the Australian media encouraging these wild parties by giving them so much publicity?

Corey Worthington Fight Staged?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I had my suspicions that the Corey Delaney Worthington fight was staged and it appears I may have been correct:

Sources told The Daily Telegraph Corey could face charges of affray and public mischief over the incident.

"If it’s a hoax and it causes someone else to believe it’s real and report it we could look at someone being charged,” a Victorian police officer said.

Police were planning to interview Corey today, while officers would also want to speak with the teenager, who shot the video on a mobile phone.

A witness to the fight said Corey was only targeted for his so-called fame. "He thinks he’s all that, he’s famous now," he said.

Since gaining worldwide infamy, Corey’s bad attitude has inspired the internet game "Slap Corey", which has now been played more than 850,000 times.

Corey has since taken representation with celebrity agent Max Markson, and is reportedly preparing a world tour promoting and DJ-ing at parties. [The Daily Telegraph]

Corey Worthington is a total media creation and he is just feeding them exactly what they want in order to increase his notariety to launch his future party career.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more Corey Worthington hoaxes in the future as well.

Corey Worthington Fight Caught On Video

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

The notorious Melbourne teenage party boy Corey Worthington Delaney has made nation wide headlines again with the release of a grainy cell phone video that appeared on A Current Affair (ACA):

Can ACA get any more tabloid than this by giving this fight three minutes of air time?  Allegedly Corey Worthington was challenged to a fight and agreed.  I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who do not like him due to his attitude and popularity.  However, the cynical side of me just has to wonder if this fight was staged to make the headlines it is currently making?  It appeared Corey Worthington Delaney’s fifteen minutes of fame had run out and here he is again making nation wide headlines, which just happened to coincide with plans to launch a nation wide party tour.  Coincidence?
