APEC Arrests Begin
For those that don’t know Sydney is the sight of this year’s APEC summit which means the anarchists, wacko environmentalists, and communists are out in force protesting and vandalizing again. Any bets when the first acts of violence will happen? These same idiots trashed downtown Melbourne last year during the G20 Summit and this year it appears they seem set on trashing Sydney during this week’s APEC summit.
The first arrests have already been made on Sunday and the summit had not even officially started yet:
Twelve environmental activists were arrested after setting out at dawn in inflatable dinghies to paint “Australia Pushing Export Coal” in 2m-high letters on the hull of the NSS Endeavor.
They also unfurled a banner, written in Chinese, urging China to be aware of efforts by Australia and the United States to undermine the Kyoto Protocol.
Specialist APEC police were brought in from Sydney to discuss with local officers whether to handle the matter under new police powers granted for the summit, a Greenpeace spokeswoman said.
Under the APEC Meeting (Police Powers) Act 2007 some protesters arrested during the summit week will have a presumption against bail.
No action was ultimately taken under the APEC legislation, the spokeswoman said.
Eleven were charged with malicious damage and a twelfth with dangerous navigation.
All were released this afternoon, with the charged boat driver to appear in Newcastle Local Court next week. [News.com.au]
I don’t understand why these idiots are not locked up in jail or a least heavily fined for vandalism? It was the same thing in Melbourne last year where these protesters totally trashed the downtown area and only four people were arrested for it. If some of my buddies and I went and trashed a neighborhood in Melbourne do you think the authorities would just let us get away with it? Of course not but when it comes to the eco-loons, anarchists, and communists they continue to get away with breaking the law.

If anyone cares these eco-loons claim they had an “environmentally friendly” protest:
“The crew appear to have cleaned it off,” the Greenpeace spokeswoman said.
The clay-based paint was environmentally friendly, and the protest had been peaceful, she said.
If this protest is so “environmentally friendly” than why are these people using a gas powered engine to drive around in their boat with? If they care so much about stopping fossil fuel usage than why are they burning fossil fuel for their protest? Shouldn’t they be in a row boat? Ah, but that would be to much work to have to actually row over to the boat to vandalize it, just like they probably drove a vehicle to get to the dock in the first place instead of riding a bicycle.
It sounds to me like they are all for fossil fuels they can use for themselves, but are against the export of fossil fuels to a developing country like China to use. Add this to the ever growing list of reasons why I can’t stand these people.

I’m sure you’ve seen the folks chaining themselves to generators down your way at a power station. I wonder if people really care about what they’re protesting or is it just away to cause trouble and get away with it. Can anyone picture Ghandi doing such a thing?

Yep, I was just reading in the paper over the lunch about the idiots chaining themselves to the power station. If there is any sudden surge in power usage in Victoria now people will go without power because of these idiots shutting down power capacity.
These idiots just use what ever the cause du jour of the day is, as an excuse to break the law, destroy property, and assault the police then they go back to the pub and brag to their buddies about it. They need to throw these people in jail or at least heavily fine them and jail them if they don’t pay the fine.
